Rook says in frustration, “It’s always the same. He tells me about ladies and how much they like him. I think… perhaps he expects me to boast back. Some men are like that. He seems to mean well towards me.”
We see Rook and Alvarez inside tavern, women around them both. Rook looks stiff, making no move to touch the woman leaning on him.
“He buys me drinks, and tries to buy me women…”
“And you do not… want women.”
Rook replies, “I *like* women. But these are women forced to sell love like it’s loaves of bread. Forced by men to sell their bodies.”
Orla looks a little horrified, but also thoughtful, “That is… I *think* I understand. And you want no part in this buying and selling, because it hurts them?”
Rook gives her a look of mild despair and fear, “Partly that, aye. But it’s also… every time I see one of those women, I can’t help but think, that could have been ME.”

Both are silent, Orla moving closer to offer comfort, a hand on Rook's shoulder. He does not seem to mind her touch.
